Democrats Get Out the Vote at Cabrillo

Volunteers are trying to register student voters.

The county's Democratic Party is making a push to register voters for the November election, especially in Watsonville where voter registration is typically low.

Volunteers were at Wednesday to get younger voters signed up.

Jose Verar, one of the organizers, said the volunteers are reaching a lot of passersby. A lot of students said they had already registered to vote.

"We've had a few people register," Verar said.

Volunteers will be . Stop by if you need to register to vote. The last day to register to vote in California for the Nov. 6 presidential election is Oct. 22.
