Supervisor Race Gets Crowded

The Santa Cruz Sentinel reports another candidate is entering the June race.

Voters may have a large slate of candidates to choose from when casting ballots in the County Supervisor race for the 4th District.

Todd McFarren, a former Watsonville mayor, announced Monday that he is considering running for the position. Dana Sales, a county Board of Education trustee, as well as current Watsonville city council members Daniel Dodge and Trina Coffman-Gomez, the Santa Cruz Sentinel reported.

Supervisor Greg Caput currently holds the office, which represents much of Watsonville and the southeastern area of Santa Cruz County. He was elected in 2010.

The election will be in June.
