2013 Road Repair Project Begins September 9th

The City of Watsonville has contracted with Intermountain Slurry Seal for the 2013 Road Repair Project. Intermountain Slurry Seal is part of the Granite Construction family. All the aggregate for this project is locally sourced from Wilson Quarry, which is owned by GraniteRock, a Watsonville Company.

The project will begin on Monday, September 9th.

A microsurface layer will be the first of three layers that each of the selected streets will receive during this project. See the link below to download/view the file listing the scheduled streets and when the first layer will be applied.

Your street has been selected to receive MICROSURFACING. Microsurfacing is liquid oil and crushed aggregate that will require 3 to 4 hours to dry and be ready for traffic. If you wish to use your car, we recommend that it be parked on a street not scheduled to be sealed.

All cars parked within the posted area after 8:00 a.m. on the day of work shall be towed away at the owner’s expense. The oil will stain your car, carpets and floors. Stay off sealed pavement until barriers are removed. Once the oil is placed, you will not be able to leave your driveway until the barriers are removed.

Please do not wash cars or water prior to work. Any water sitting in roadway will delay work.  This is the first layer of three layers to be applied to your streets. Residents will be notified of all future closures as well.
