City of Watsonville Extends its Household Hazardous Waste Collection Hours

The City of Watsonville has extended its hours for collection of Household Hazardous Waste (HHW).

The City's Waste & Recycling Drop-off has extended its Collection Hours for Household Hazardous Waste (HHW.) Previously, the City accepted HHW only on the second Saturday of each month. With additional staff now certified to collect household hazardous waste, City residents can now drop off HHW on Tuesdays and Wednesdays in addition to the second Saturday of each month from 9:00 a.m.-3:30 p.m.!

Household hazardous wastes (HHW) are unwanted household products containing hazardous ingredients and labeled with words such as “danger,” “warning,” “caution,” “poison,” “flammable,” or “corrosive.”  These products are not allowed in the garbage or recycling containers or carts. It is also illegal to pour any hazardous waste on the ground or in storm drains.

The City of Watsonville's Waste and Recycling Drop-off located at 320 Harvest Drive. You must live within the City of Watsonville to use this program. Address verification is required.

State law limits the amount you can transport at a time: 15 gallons liquid or 125 pounds solid material. If you have questions regarding Household Hazardous Waste, call Customer Service at 768-3133 during business hours: Monday-Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Visit our website to learn more about what household hazardous materials are accepted or you can download the flier.

We got one too sweetcakes (some caring person actually tucked it into my door handle so it wouldn'tRead More blow away) even though I have a "No on T" sign in my yard. The "Yes on T" is all lies anyway so it went right into my recycle bin. Perhaps it was just coincidence but they came while we were at the City Council meeting last night. Go figure.
