Earth Day/Day of the Child - Sunday, April 21

This event reaches out to the community about the environment and what each one of us can do to help. This year's focus for Public Works & Utilities' staff is our Tap Water.

Families are invited to Ramsay Park on Sunday, April 21, 2013, from Noon to 4:00 P.M. to join the celebration of Earth Day and Day of the Child. Over 27 organizations will have booths offering games, prizes and information on environmental, health and educational issues.

This year’s participating organizations include the Santa Cruz County Animal Services, Monterey Bay Aquarium WATCH program, and El Jardin Bilingual Cooperative Preschool. These groups join with Save our Shores, Santa Cruz County Office of Education, Watsonville Wetlands Watch and many others for this free, fun family event.   Last year, we had over 3000 people in attendance.

This event, sponsored by the City of Watsonville Public Works and Utilities and Parks and Community Services Departments, will also include arts and crafts, itty bitty activities and bounce houses. Food for purchase will be available from Dee Dee’s Taqueria.
