Rotary Club of Freedom Donates Bench

City of Watsonville thanks Rotary Club of Freedom for their bench donation along one of the most traveled wetlands trail.

Rotary Club of Freedom not only participated in the World Wetlands Day on February 2, 2013, but also donated a bench. The bench represents the City of Watsonville's and the Rotary Club of Freedom's commitment to the protection of our wonderful and valuable wetlands.

Council Member Felipe Hernandez was on hand to say a few words about the generosity of the Rotary Club of Freedom.

The bench has been installed alongside of one of most heavily used City wetlands trails to show community support and partnership.  The benefits of the bench behind the City’s Nature Center will go along way. With over 7,000 local community members and area visitors every year, the Nature Center serves as a gateway to our award winning City trails. With this section of trail being one of the most visited and serving as the entrance to their first wetlands experience, it will serve for the enjoyment of the many residents and visitors looking for a place to sit and enjoy the view: from seniors and special needs visitors, bird watchers, dog walkers, parents and children, school programs, all will greatly appreciate the new addition of the bench.
