Salsipuedes Creek Levee will close for construction beginning June 24th

The City of Watsonville would like to inform the residents of Watsonville regarding the closure of the Salsipuedes Creek Levee beginning June 24th. The County of Santa Cruz is in charge of this project.

During this period the levee access road, a popular hiking and jogging trail will be closed in order to protect the public from the construction.  The County has set out signs informing the public of the closure.

The County of Santa Cruz has started the 2nd phase of the Bench Excavation Project. This phase includes restoring the Salsipuedes Creek levee to its design grade between HW 152 and where it  joins the river.  The levee top grade has settled since its construction in 1949.
