Readers' Choice: Best Brewery

What local beer maker's concoctions do you like to enjoy on a summer day?

Summer's here. Sipping a tasty beer is one relaxing way to enjoy a sunny afternoon. So Patch wants to know, what local brewery produces your favorite beer?

The microbrew scene in Santa Cruz County is getting all hopped up. A new brewery opened in Capitola last month and more are on tap.

Tell us your favorite brewery, what beer you love to drink there and why.

Santa Cruz County offers: Uncommon Brewers, Santa Cruz Mountain Brewing, Seabright Brewery, Boulder Creek Brewing Co., Santa Cruz Ale Works, or Corralitos Brewing Co.

Some of these beer makers have breweries open to the public or by appointment, others bottle beer that can be picked up at local grocery stores or they tap kegs at beer festivals and special events.

Voting is open until 9 a.m. Friday with the winner announced at noon and the lucky business receiving a "Readers' Choice 2012" certificate.

Please rate the businesses below on their Patch Places listings and leave a review. (That counts toward the overall scoring also!)

If we left one of your favorite local beer out of the poll, please tell us in the comments. To read the official Readers' Choice Contest rules, please click

I love enjoying a beer on the patio at Santa Cruz Mountain Brewery, and the beers they're brewing at Santa Adairius are delicious. Tough choice, but nice to have all this great local beer!

Santa Adarius is amazing. They are redefining what I have come to know as beer. Tim gets my vote for blurring the lines between beer, wine and liquor by marrying those worlds into something delicious and different

I'd like to have more info about this. I'm thinking of "bundling" my telephone land line,Read More internet, and HGTV with Charter, BUT if they practice censorhsip, I might reconsider. Any more info would be appreciated...what websites are being blocked?
Butch Cole June 16, 2013 at 01:32 am
I'd like more information also..I have Charter now and can't remember getting notification that theyRead More are blocking sites.
Earl Pickles June 16, 2013 at 10:40 pm
Doubtful that notification would be given. Sites that are most troublesome for Charter are thoseRead More available for downloading copyrighted material. This is not to say that Charter is a bad ISP for it is a relative fast, moderately priced, reliable service in this area. I would suggest however that you do not lease the required equipment from them but purchase your own. If you are interested in finding out more about Charter and other ISPs blocking sites, information is available on the Internet.
