Assemblymember Luis A. Alejo (D-Salinas), along with numerous community partners and tax preparers is hosting a free event to help community members learn more about the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) and find out if they qualify for up to $5,751 in tax refunds from the IRS.
Bilingual tax preparers will be available to answer questions and help community members apply for the EITC.
The EITC can provide as much as $5,751 for working people who are still struggling to pay their bills and put food on the table. Last year, over 800,000 Californians were eligible for the EITC, but didn’t even apply. Some people may be newly eligible because of changes in their marital, parental, or financial status.
