The risers on both sides of the Cabrillo College stadium were packed Thursday at 3 p.m., for the Pajaro Valley High School Graduation. A total of 305 students graduated and it couldn't have been a more beautiful day, though piping hot.
Joe Garcia, 22, walked for his brother Edwin Garcia, a senior at PVHS who died in May after a battle with brain cancer.
"He had completed all of his course work and everything, so all that was left was to take the stage," said an emotional Garcia.
After the final flipping of the tassel, everyone, especially photographers, wondered why the class wasn't throwing their hats. Just then, the song "Danza Kuduro" by Don Omar (?) came pumping through the loudspeakers and the whole class danced! Oh yeah and then the hat throwing.
"It feels so good to finally be done," said Aime Hernandez, who plans to go to CSU to study kineseology.
Congratulations Pajaro Valley High School Class of 2012!!
