St. Francis High School students welcomed a special visitor Tuesday.
The Salesians of Don Bosco’s Father Esteban Ortiz, Regional Councilor for Inter-America visited the private Watsonville high school.
Father Ortiz oversees the Salesians works in 24 countries that include Canada, the United States, Mexico, Central America and the Northern section of South America.
Originally from Ecuador, Father Ortiz is stationed in Rome, but spends most of his time travelling the Americas providing a direct liaison between the Salesian Provinces and the Rector Major, Father Pascual Chavez, leader of the worldwide Salesian Order.
Father Ortiz spoke to the students and staff at St. Francis about his work and brought greetings from Father Chavez. Father Ortiz also took questions from St. Francis students and after the question and answer session, he toured the St. Francis Campus with President-Principal Patrick Lee.
