“While we are pleased to see our test scores continuing to rise,
we know we still have a lot of work in front of us," Baker said in a prepared statement. "As a district we will continue our focus on English language development for our English learners as well as increasing student success in algebra.”

STAR (California Standardized Testing and Reporting) measures students' academic achievement across the state and points to areas that districts or individual schools may need to focus on.

Baker said the school district is working on cultivating more increases in test scores.

“Implementation of successful strategies and best practices to improve student achievement takes time and commitment. Our teachers, parents and school leadership need to be commended for their roles in
raising our levels of achievement," she said.

The test scores were released Monday.
