Trailblazers to Speak at 40th Event

CEO of Plantronics Ken Kannappan will be speaking at a special event on July 20th, when Second Harvest Food Bank Commemorates 40 Years.

In the coming weeks, we’ll be using this blog to introduce you to three very special guests who will be on hand to help Second Harvest commemorate its 40th anniversary on July 20th. First up is Ken Kannappan, President and Chief Executive Officer of Plantronics.

Ken Kannappan has served as CEO of Plantronics since 1998 and as a member of the Board of Directors since 1999. Mr. Kannappan and the employees of Plantronics, are long time supporters of Second Harvest and we are honored to have him speaking at our event.

Plantronics’ relationship with Second Harvest dates back to 1997 when the company and its employees participated in the Holiday Food Drive for the first time. Over the past 14 years, they have donated the equivalent of 2.5 million pounds of food for local families in need.

The employees of Plantronics have a compassion and enthusiasm for helping their community that is truly inspiring. Whether volunteering at our warehouse or holding one of their own events to raise money for Second Harvest, Plantronics and its employees have made a major contribution to the people of Santa Cruz County—providing jobs and sharing the success they’ve achieved around the globe by giving back right here at home.

Mr. Kannappan serves on the Advisory Board of Second Harvest and is co-chair for the 2012 Holiday Food Drive. Please join us on July 20th to hear him talk about the positive impact engaging employees in community service has on an organization, and how it ultimately strengthens individuals, teams and the community as whole.
