Commit to Getting Fit

Longtime Santa Cruz resident Jenny Muir Twaddle helps people transform themselves through the Beach Body Challenge program.

Jenny Muir Twaddle is no novice when it comes to helping people reach their fitness goals. Mother of two and passionate fitness advocate, she has been a Team Beachbody mentor and coach for two years and she is available to help motivate you and help you lose weight.

Twaddle is hosting a Team Beachbody Get Fit Challenge kick-off meeting on Sunday, Aug. 21, from 2-4 p.m. at her home in Santa Cruz, where she will share with you the tools needed to lead a healthy and active lifestyle.

The Get Fit Challenge is a health and fitness transformation competition. Participants commit to get fit and share the results they achieve with any Beachbody program. Members automatically get a free wristband, a free T-shirt, or both. If their transformation is selected as the best in their age and gender category (18-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50+) they could win up to $100,000. In addition, Team Beachbody will offer monthly and quarterly incentives.

“At the informational meeting, I will give all the details about the program, show short video clips of the Beachbody workouts people can choose from (Turbo Fire, P90X and Insanity), and have everyone try the Shakeology drink,” Twaddle said. “If you want me to, I will take your before pictures, your measurements and your body fat calculations, but only if you want me to!”

Participants are asked to commit to one workout program (mentioned above), replace one meal a day with Shakeology, a whole food nutritional shake which helps your body gently eliminate toxins more efficiently while allowing for better absorption of essential nutrients, and use the Team Beachbody Club. This is as an additional tool that includes forum topics, fellow fitness junkies, and customized meal planning.

“If you would like to take part in the challenge but can't make it to the launch party, you can call me and I can help you get set up for the challenge,” Twaddle said. “You can even participate via Facebook.”

Twaddle will create a private, program-specific group on Facebook for all participants where they can post their daily workouts, find support from their coach and bond with other members.

Twaddle will help facilitate the challenge by offering three weekly workouts at her home where friends can workout with her. Members can also workout with her virtually via Facebook.

“The challenge starts on Sept. 1,” she said. “But you can join at any time.”

Twaddle is not the only one that will motivate participants though. This is literally a team effort as Team Beachbody coaches across the country will challenge groups of people to get fit while competing for the grand prize. You will not be alone on this journey and remember, you do not have to live in Santa Cruz to be a part of this fitness movement—thanks to the internet.

“What do you have to lose? Nothing but weight,” she said.

Commit to get fit—the time is now.
