Fireworks Sales Light Up This Weekend

Watsonville is the only Santa Cruz County municipality where "safe and sane" fireworks can be bought—and shot—from July 1 through 4.

For four days beginning July 1 and ending midnight Independence Day, Watsonville residents can purchase and light up "safe and sane" fireworks within the city limits, making the city the only Santa Cruz County municipality to allow such explosive activity.

Twenty-five sale booths, located throughout the city, have permits to sell the sparklers. Each is a non-profit and part of the proceeds from what they are able to sell go towards the organizations.

Some of these booths may be open as early as 9 a.m. and close as late as 10 p.m.
