October Brings 100 Degree Heat Wave to Watsonville

Temperatures should taper off to the 70's by Wednesday.

Summer isn't ready to leave yet, and after mild temperatures all summer long, the heat wave of the past few days reached its climax on Monday.

Monday's high temperature was 100°F at 2:05 p.m. in Watsonville when conditions were sunny, according to the Weather Channel.

Although it doesn't break the record high of 106°F in 1987, today's temperatures were among the hottest of the entire summer, and well above the October average of 72°F.
