Hotel Price Gouging of Stranded Passengers after SFO Crash

Shame on the businesses who gouged people who were stranded in San Francisco after the crash at SFO!

One example, a Best Western that normally charges around $140-$150 per night set their prices at $999 per night after the news that the airport was closed and delayed. They originally commented about it, saying that sometimes, the price just goes up. But then later changed their story, stating that people were not charged that price.

Unfortunately, there are more businesses that did the same thing or worse, with some charging up to $1200 per night, when they were normally charging $100-$200 for July rates.

I hope the world knows, this is NOT what San Francisco is about. What a terrible message to send the world about our compassion after a tragedy. They should be in big trouble, fines much higher than what they received from their inflated prices.

We should be helping others in hard times, not taking advantage of them.

Check out this local news story, too, and tell me what do you think!
