It's More Than Just a Ride

The Watsonville Volunteer Center is seeking friendly, reliable and safe volunteer drivers based out of mid or south county Santa Cruz to provide round-trip transportation for low-income disabled seniors. Drivers provide an invaluable service to seniors by taking them on essential trips to buy food or visit their doctors. You don't typically stay with your rider during appointments, which usually last about an hour. You can run some of your own errands, and then take your rider home. As a volunteer, your schedule is completely flexible; you drive when you have time and no regular commitment is required. This is a family friendly volunteer opportunity and drivers are welcome to bring along children and family members! Additionally, you will be reimbursed for your gas costs. Becoming a volunteer driver is a simple and fun way to build community, reduce isolation and help all people in our community enjoy the freedom of movement!!!
