Academic Vocational Charter Institute (AVCI)

Flag as Inappropriate

AVCI is an educational alternative to high school where students learn job skills, such as computer programming and sheet metal welding, while completing graduation requirements. Students get work experience while attending school and can earn vocational certificates. Established in 1999, the school tries to engage students and prepare them for a career or college. Students are referred to the school and must be accepted. After graduation, students typically go to community college or into the work force. The school is one of several charter programs run by the Pajaro Valley Unified School District.
