<p>Pajaro Valley High started in fall 2004 with 500 freshmen students. Now the traditional high school has a student population of about 1,600. Students from Lakeview, Cesar Chavez and Rolling Hills middle schools become Grizzlies. Students are taught in small learning communities—the class size averages 30 kids—and there is a focus on environmental science because of the proximity to the area's wetlands.</p> <p></p>
