I visited the Buena Vista Migrant camp on a Farmers Tour event put on by Springfield Grange…Read More (Watsonville). I met Christian and he is quite an intelligent, likeable young man. These kids are not allowed to ride bikes or roller skates and there is no public transportation. Then they leave school at the end of November and return in May. Asked what that does to them as far as schooling goes and I was told "It guarantees another generation of field workers." I am still in shock that this is going on and I knew nothing about it.

I would LOVE to donate - used to 4x a year until I lived in Europe for a while. Now the Red Cross…Read More doesn't want my blood because they think I might have mad cow disease. It's a shame too - I've got the good old, common stuff that they always run low on. When is the Red Cross going to change their rules requiring people living outside the country for a while?
